Verses For When You Feel Forgotten

March 16, 2022

13 verses when to encourage you when you feel forgotten or invisible by your friends, family, spouse, or co-workers. God has promised since the beginning of time that He will never leave us, forsake us, or forget us.

Sometimes we feel like we’re forgotten—as if the world could go on without us. It might not be intentional, but we’re treated like we’re invisible from our friends, family, spouse, co-workers…

And while we know logically and mentally that that’s not true, our emotions can be slow to grasp and hold on to truth.

Here is a list of Bible verses from my personal Bible that have helped me remember that I am not forgotten by the One who matters most: God.

He has made promise after promise to remember us, and I hope that these verses encourage you that you are not forgotten or invisible.

All verses are from the New American Standard Bible.

Exodus 4:11–12

But the LORD said to him, “Who has made the human mouth? Or who makes anyone unable to speak or deaf, or able to see or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now then go, and I Myself will be with your mouth, and instruct you in what you are to say.”

Deut 4:31

For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not abandon you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.

1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God does not see as man sees, since man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Job 28:23–24

God understands its way, And He knows its place. For He looks to the ends of the earth; He sees everything under the heavens.

Isaiah 43:1

But now, this is what the LORD says, He who is your Creator, Jacob, And He who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!

Isaiah 65:24

It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.

Matthew 6:31–32

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

Matthew 10:30–31

And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

John 16: 22

Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one is going to take your joy away from you.

Romans 5:6

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

Galatians 1:15

But when He who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace was pleased.

Hebrews 4:14–16

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 6:10

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having served and by still serving the saints.

And today… I want to use it all of that to help women like you live more intentionally—with art that tells the truth, studies that deepen your faith, and creative tools that turn your ideas into impact.

What happens when you combine graphic design, fine art, marketing, and a love of theology?
